About Commercial Finance and Debtor Insurance

LloydsTSB Commercial Finance has been protecting its clients against the failure of debtors since 2004 and will in 2008 year provide cover for in excess of £2 billion worth of sales in the UK and Europe. In 2008 Commercial Finance, in partnership with AIG, decided to launch the Debtor Insurance product to the wider the business community offering the joint expertise of LloydsTSB Commercial Finance and AIG to help protect business against the failure of their customers.

Meet the team

  • Martin Walmsley - Head of Debtor Insurance

    Martin formed the Debtor Insurance team in 2007 building on the success of the Debtor Protection product, offered to our asset finance client, over the previous four years. Martin works closely with AIG and the team to make sure that we offer the right level of protection to our clients at a realistic and competitive price. Losses are inevitable, especially in today's financial climate, when one of our Clients customers does fail the team make sure that the focus is on paying the insured loss with the minimum of fuss.

  • Karen McConnell - Debtor Insurance Executive

    Karen joined Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance in June 1990. In this time Karen has had various roles but for the past 3 years has managed the Debtor Protection team an internal product for those business' who have a Factoring or ID agreement with CF.

    In May of 2007 Karen became FSA Accredited. She now manages the specialist Debtor Insurance team, bringing with her a wealth of experience on the management of trade credit insurance policies. Karen's role is to ensure quotes, claims and any other issues during the life of your policy are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.

  • Frances Bridgman - Debtor Insurance Analyst

    Frances joined the Credit Department at Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance in 2000. She brought her knowledge of underwriting decisions to the Debtor Protection team in 2005, supporting the wide range of Invoice Financing clients that have signed up to protect their unpaid invoices.

    Frances has worked with Debtor Insurance since its launch and is FSA accredited. She will provide your quotation & talk you through any queries you have regarding Debtor Insurance

  • Hazel Hunt - Debtor Insurance Analyst

    Hazel has worked for the company since August 1988. In her time with the company she has worked in various roles, in 1995 she joined the Credit department and since then has continued in this sector. In 2004 Hazel was a founding member of the existing Debtor Protection Team.

    In May 2007 Hazel became FSA accredited and is now part of the specialised Debtor Insurance Team and continues to offer her experience of trade credit within the role. Hazel is responsible for dealing with any new enquiries as well as offering support to existing customers with the policy already in place.

  • Ben Durrant - Debtor Insurance Analyst

    Ben has worked within the Debtor Protection Team since it's inception in 2004, becoming FSA approved for the launch of Debtor Insurance to non Invoice-Finance clients in 2007. He brings 9 years experience of risk assessment to the team, 4 of which have been gained in the Credit Insurance market. Ben is a front-line point of contact offering support to both existing clients and prospects alike.

  • Craig Stones - Debtor Insurance Client Manager

    Craig joined the Debtor Insurance team in January 2007 as Client Manager. Having worked for both a major broker and smaller specialist firms in both an underwriting and client servicing capacity, Craig brought with him 8 years experience of the Credit Insurance market. Craig's role is to be day to day point of contact for our existing clients whilst also providing advice and quotations to new customers.

  • Claire Morris - Debtor Insurance Analyst

    Claire has worked in a variety of financial services roles over the 5 years and joined the team in January this year. Having achieved accreditation in May 2008, Claire handles both new business and supports clients who require general assistance or who have claim queries. Claire has built a good reputation with both clients and the team with her helpful and thorough approach.
