Small businesses in the UK are pledging to spend more money on IT infrastructure, it has been claimed.
Technology solutions provider CDW claims that a large proportion of small businesses are planning on increasing their IT budget in an effort to tackle a range of infrastructure issues, as well as trying to reduce costs.
CDW's latest IT Monitor indicates that SMEs expenditure of IT projects is expected to grow by 3 per cent from June and is likely to grow by 8 per cent by June next year. The results of the IT Monitor also indicate that 7 per cent of small businesses are planning on recruiting more IT staff.
The research conducted by CDW for the IT Monitor suggests that small businesses are becoming more confident about their spending. The global economic crisis appears to be finally behind us and recovery is expected to last, boosting confidence. The research indicates that expenditure on IT infrastructure is of enormous importance to SMEs, those looking to invest in more computer equipment can use sales finance options which pay an advance on invoices issued to clients to fund the new equipment.
Thomas E Richards president and chief operating officer of CDW told Construct a Quote: "Despite the struggling economy, it's reassuring to see signs of hope within the small business sector. Although this is just the first step in a long journey toward a recovery, we are encouraged by the increased confidence at the small business level and hope to see an improved IT marketplace emerge in the near future."
