Small businesses can attract more new customers and build closer ties with existing clients by keeping a regularly updated blog, an industry expert has claimed.
In a guest article for Entrepreneur.com, business commentator Dan Briody says that blogging allows SMEs to stay in constant contact with their client base and create enduring, profitable bonds.
Perhaps most pertinently, regularly updated blogs can dramatically increase the flow of traffic to a small firm's corporate website, which can help to drive growth and increase sales.
"A good blog can increase traffic to your site by 30%," Briody explains.
"It produces a steady stream of content (which helps search engines find you) and it creates a connection between you and your customers - because they can comment on your blog and you can respond, allowing you to e-mail each other back and forth."
While blogs are excellent tools for SMEs, they ideally need to be updated every day to be fully effective. By taking advantage of invoice finance methods, small firms can set aside funds to pay a full-time, professional blogger to come in and create fresh, engaging content on a daily basis.
Briody says that business owners should not be deterred from hiring a specialist blogger if there are no keen writers within their company. "Not a writer? It's OK to ask someone else to write your company's blog," he explains.
