Business secretary Vince Cable is calling on employers and the general public to speak out against rules and regulations that hinder growth, reports realbusiness.co.uk.
Firms from a variety of sectors - initially retail, hospitality, road transportation, fisheries and manufacturing - will be asked for their say on "statutory instruments" that affect their daily lives.
The Red Tape campaign will also have "six cross-cutting themes" that are open throughout. Employment law, pensions, company law, equalities, health and safety and environment law are all open for debate within the campaign.
The new campaign is set to encourage growth in both SME's and large business. While the government are removing rules and regulations in order to promote a growing landscape for UK business, firms can also utilise services like sales finance in order to instigate further growth as this can free up cash left in unpaid invoices. This extra cash can then be pumped into important growth sectors like recruitment.
Cable told hrmagazine.co.uk the campaign is different to previous de-regulation campaigns.
"The onus is now on my fellow ministers and myself to justify a regulation, rather than on you telling us to do something about it."
Prime Minister David Cameron has slammed some of the current policies, saying: "Where regulation is well-designed and proportionate, it should stay. But it is hard to believe that we need government regulations on issues such as ice cream van musical jingles. That's why I want us to be the first government in modern history to leave office have reduced the overall burden of regulation, rather than increasing it.
