Owners of small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) should make the effort to talk to each other.
That's according to Liz Barclay, who spoke to Source Wire about her website - which has been designed to help SMEs communicate with each other effectively.
She claimed that there was so much to making a business work, that sometimes SMEs needed contact with other like-minded individuals, be to it to "run an idea" past them, "discuss a dilemma" with them or get their opinion on a "serious problem."
By opening up the lines of communication, SME owners could talk about anything from the range of sales finance options available, to how to recruit staff effectively. This could open up a whole new world of opportunities for both parties.
Barclay went on to confirm her view, claiming: "The business world is full of rules and regulations but people need examples and listening ears."
"The government knows that economic growth depends on the strength of our 5 million small businesses. This site will make it easier for people to build better businesses through sharing their experiences and knowledge."
Her comments came shortly after Fpb.org claimed that SMEs were coming together help Britain's economy.
It stated that over 300 small businesses had joined the 'Get Britain Trading' scheme launched by the government, helping each other to improve the economy and highlight the large part SMEs play in maintaining this growth.
