The number of new start-up businesses is on the rise, reports suggest.
With the economy looking ever more certain, more people are looking to take advantage and start up their own business.
The figure for YTD March 2011 stands at 396,000, a growth of 9.4 per cent on the figures for last year. It is the second year in a row in which the number has grown. Levels are now reaching those witnessed before the economic downturn.
At its lowest (2008/9), the figure stood at 330,000 but has been growing ever since.
With many new businesses making their mark, the number of business people turning to invoice finance may well rise as the investors seek to free up cash and give themselves the best possible start in the business world.
Speaking to smallbusiness.co.uk, accountant Kevin Walmsley explained how the results are encouraging signs for the UK economy, pitching it in line with the more optimistic mood seen in the business community.
"Despite economic uncertainty, there seems to be a consensus now in the UK that it is time to get on with business and bring new commercial ideas to life," he said.
Adding, Walmsley told freshbusinessthinking.com: "The fact that there are small and medium-businesses being established indicates that there are still entrepreneurs out there who are confident enough in their business model to launch their own company.
"That kind of determination is impressive, and it shows that entrepreneurial spirit in the UK is alive and well."
