Local firm cleans up with Iceland
A Sheffield cleaning company is set to create 30 new jobs in the city after securing a six figure contract with frozen food retailer, Iceland.
Based in Woodbourne Business Centre, Premier Contract Cleaning (PCC) has grown rapidly since it was launched in January 2006, picking up contracts with a range of international companies including rail specialist, Pandrol.
This latest deal will see the company clean the majority of Iceland's 684 shops on an annual basis. PCC will spend two nights at each store, cleaning all of fixtures including freezers and shelving units. The contract will take headcount from 90 to 120.
To help support the expansion, the business has appointed asset backed lending specialist Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance. Commercial Finance is lending against the business' sales ledger to improve cash flow and free up funds to ensure new and existing contracts can be serviced quickly.
James Scarborough, regional manager at Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance, said: "Steve has fantastic contract cleaning experience. He knows what customers want and it's clear that the formula works. The Iceland deal is a major step forward for PCC but it's of course crucial that his ambitions for the future of the company aren't curtailed through a lack of cash."
Managing director Steve Slinn is using the contract as a spring board to further success. Sales are already set to pass £1 million by December, and Steve is confident that turnover will reach £3 million by 2009.

The UK market for contract cleaning has grown rapidly since 2000. The industry is expected to grow by 13% over the next five years, taking the total value of the sector to £5.7 billion.
